Geraldton Airport is located about six nautical miles east of Geraldton. That distance is 11 kilometres or nearly 7 miles, as you travel the Geraldton-Mount Magnet Road. During World War II, the airfield was the No. 4 Service Flying Training School for the Royal Australian Air Force. Today, the Royal Flying Doctor Service has an aircraft hangar adjacent to the terminal. They use the facility on an as-needed basis. RAAF utilizes the field for training exercises.
