The Blue Mountains are a region of mountains located in New South Wales bordering on the Sydney metropolitan area and around 50 kilometres away from Sydney’s CBD. The Blue Mountains start on the west side of the Nepean River and end at Coxs River.

The Blue Mountains are mainly made of Sandstone and there are many spectacular gorges. The majority of the area is contained by 7 national parks.
