Posted by Jeremy Storer on December 20, 2011

Hobart is the capital city of the state of Tasmania in Australia. Located on the foothills of Mount Wellington and on the banks of River Derwent, Hobart offers some really exciting venues related to arts, entertainment, media, events and sports.

Hobart offers spectacular landscapes such as the snow covered Mount Wellington and elegance of the Derwent River.

On the city side, ancient architecture is on ample display in the 100 to 200 years old museums, buildings and monuments. Maritime Museum of Tasmania, Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, and the Tasmanian Cricket Museum are the best of several art museums at Hobart.

Some of the famous old buildings and places to visit at Hobart are the tall Wrest Point Casino, Theatre Royal, Cascade Brewery, Constitution Dock, Cadbury Chocolate factory and the Battery point.

Do not forget to visit the evergreen and pleasant Botanical Gardens having around 4000 plant species on display.

Check out the Salamanca place that had beautiful sandstone warehouses once which have now been transformed into shopping outlets, cafes, art galleries and good restaurants.

If you wish to have a great experience of nature, architecture, science and sport all at a single place, Hobart is the place to visit.
